The plain-language terms for using Fenek and Fenek Pro.
The software
Fenek Portfolio Companion is open-source software under the MIT License. It runs locally inside Claude Desktop and is read-only — it reads your data and never places trades, moves funds, or cancels orders.
Not financial advice
Fenek is a data tool, not a financial adviser. Nothing it shows is investment, tax, or legal advice, and figures it displays may be incomplete or delayed. Your decisions are your own.
Your accounts and keys
You connect your own broker and exchange API keys using read-only permissions. You are responsible for keeping them safe and for following each provider’s own terms. Keys are stored only in your operating system’s keychain through Claude Desktop; see the Security page.
Fenek Pro
Fenek Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks the crypto sources, billed by Polar at $4.99/mo. See Pricing and the Refunds & cancellation policy. You can also build the Pro features from source for free — no payment required.
Acceptable use
Use Fenek to read your own portfolio data. Do not use it to break any broker’s or exchange’s terms, or any applicable law.
Warranty and liability
Fenek is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To that same extent, the authors are not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change over time; the current version always lives on this page. Material changes affecting Fenek Pro will be communicated to subscribers.
